1. Introduction & Age Requirements
Welcome to Tutordue ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Spectrabit Tech Ltd. We are committed to protecting your privacy. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and manage payments independently. Users under the age of 18 ("Minors") may only use the platform under the direct supervision, consent, and financial oversight of a parent or legal guardian. If you do not agree with this policy, please immediately discontinue accessing the site.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when registering an account, setting up a profile, or communicating with us. Data collection differs by user role:
- For Learners/Students: Account login details, public display usernames, designated educational tiers, support communication logs, and marketplace purchase histories.
- For Instructors/Tutors: Full legal names, profile imagery, professional certifications, educational qualifications, bio text, and banking/mobile money payout credentials required to disburse platform earnings. (Must be 18+).
- Automated Data Tracking: When you navigate the platform, we automatically collect technical data via analytics tools (e.g., IP address, browser configuration, device type).
3. Use of Your Information
We utilize collected data strictly for operational, security, and optimization purposes:
- To host, operate, and maintain our virtual learning marketplace.
- To verify tutor credentials and ensure a high-quality educational environment.
- To manage and secure platform transactions.
- To isolate, investigate, and prevent fraudulent actions or safety breaches.
4. Identity Obfuscation and Public Sharing
To maintain absolute security and protect minor students within virtual spaces, Tutordue enforces an Identity Obfuscation Framework.
- Real names, telephone numbers, emails, and private contact vectors of students are completely masked from the public web interface and from tutors.
- Only your chosen public username and academic tier are shared publicly or displayed inside virtual video rooms.
- Instructors acknowledge that their professional biographies, uploaded resource descriptions, and public ratings are visible to all marketplace visitors.
5. Third-Party Payment Processing & Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or lease user personal data to third parties. Data is shared exclusively with trusted operational service providers:
- Payment Processing via PayChangu: All billing and payouts are processed securely through PayChangu. Tutordue does not store raw credit card numbers or mobile money security PINs on our central servers.
- Platform Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized behavioral metrics are shared with analytics tools.
- Legal Disclosures: We reserve the right to disclose personal records if required by law or to defend user safety.
6. Children's Data Protection Framework
Because Tutordue accommodates minor students, we enforce strict controls:
- Parental Authorization: Minors are strictly prohibited from registering independent financial accounts or handling billing. Minor profiles must be established with the direct oversight of a parent or legal guardian.
- No Behavior Tracking of Minors: We do not knowingly track precise real-time geolocation or behavioral identifiers from minor users beyond operational essentials.
- Parental Rights: Parents or legal guardians retain the absolute right to request access to their child's data profile, corrections, or execution of the "Right to Erasure."
7. Data Security and Server Storage
We implement comprehensive technical security protocols to protect your personal information. Active profile metrics are stored behind secure firewalls. While we use industry-standard tools, absolute internet security cannot be guaranteed.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We utilize digital cookies to save user account preferences and manage active user login sessions.
